Looks like a great idea, Ash. So many people get caught up in the "you're doing it wrong!" aspect of Lifestyle Design (for lack of a better term). There are so many thousands of ways to live your life! Do what works, even if it's just a small thing. Not everyone wants to be a world-wandering jetsetter. We all want something different. The point it to do something!

Great job with the video too. Looking forward to more.

Well I'm glad someone enjoyed watching my big, fat head! :) Thanks for the kudos! I'll admit I have absolutely no experience in video, but I thought it was a worthwhile enough project that I decided that didn't matter. Stay tuned for numero dos! (It's going to be a fun one!)

I love to travel, yes. And I would say that travel does, for me, exponentially increase the excitement factor of my life. That said, travel is not synonymous with excitement for everyone, and it's important not to marginalize those who are seeking to lead more fulfilled lives, but prefer to do so in other ways.

Lifestyle design does not have to mean travel.

Lifestyle design means creating your ideal life.

This won't be the same for everyone, and it'd be impossible to prescribe one thing over an another - you can't predict what will excite the population as a whole. You can only encourage them to dig deep and figure it out for themselves, help them to understand the significance and potential impact of whatever that is, and then motivate them to make it a priority.

Kristen- I took a look at your site - you're from Moscow! A very good friend of mine is from Moscow, and I grew up in NEPA, as well, in Susquehanna County. I did my undergraduate work at Wilkes. Small world!

I understand the pressures you talk about here, but I've got to cringe a little at the words, "being responsible." Your entire life, you've been told to "be responsible." Well, what is responsible, anyway? What does that mean to dissect that word? For whom are we being responsible....for society, so we can say we are doing what we're "suppose" to...or for ourselves...so we can say we are doing what we need and want to?

Well-said, Kent - I'm actually gearing up to do a post on why living messy is better, and it's going to talk about that exact thing. If we can learn to visualize life as more of a game to be played, and realize that that not everything is as serious as we make it out to be, it really frees us up in terms of stress-levels, willingness to take risks and, I would argue that as a result this will lend itself to greater fulfillment.

Okay, now who wants a cold beer? :)

That's hysterical - I'm glad you liked it, considering I had never edited any kind of video before, so I hopped on iMovie and managed to learn it within a day or so. It was fairly easy, but I'm not sure how easy/difficult it is in comparison to other types of software.
